this is an excellent school. 99% of the students are hardworking and has the potential to be succesful. even though the school has a lot of students, you get used to it and it doesn't become a problem. the teachers are soo decicated. the school offers great honor classes in math, science, and english, and a pre ap global studies classes. It has many interactive after-school activities for everyone. The music in brentwood itself has the most awards, the students start playing their instruments in 7th grade they sound that they have been playing since they were in 3th grade. Most of the classroom has a smartboards that makes learning easy and fun.

They have the greatest programs, and they customize their schedules to fit their students. I used to be a level two student, but after they gave me Ms. Heintz for math, in eigth grade, and Mr. Signorelli in seventh grade, I'm a level four in the state test. They also have special programs for honors students, and special education. The district has the best music program in the state, and the best soccer team in the nation.

This school has a great focused plan, but I am most disturbed by the ratio of students to teachers. Shouldn't a classroom of 28 children have more than one attendant? The government won't allow it in daycare, why is it ok for our schools to accept this arrangement? Aren't the brighter students being neglected in some way as well as the children who need more attention? Where are the year round teacher's aides? |

North Elementary is one of those schools that is trying to turn itself around. The principals and assist. principal make considerable effort to know each child and parent. They have been trying to introduce more programs throughout the year. However, there isn't a strong enough PTA presence. There needs to be more strategy to get the parents involved. I know they implemented a phone survey in the district to try and accomodate working parents. It is important to mention that in brentwood school district as a whole, there is so much turnover and still a number of people renting their homes that there aren't enough people to vote for our school budget. It makes a difference , especially with the size of Brentwood--it is huge in comparison to some other school districts that spend more money.

You will not find more dedicated and compassionate staff members anywhere! That's my opinion. However, I fervently believe that the reviews posted by the adults here have a certain degree of validity. It seems to me that the opinions of the students have a higher degree of credibility. Come visit us!

Unfortunately, there are no formal programs for children with high academic abilities. The focus in the school seems to be on learning English. |

I am new to the neighborhood, and find that the school is very attentive to the welfare of the students. It is the first time where I see that a Principal meets the children at the door of their car. The two ladies that are always present in the front of school, assure me that there are vigilant eyes on our precious little ones. Even in the cold weather their smiles shine through. Ms. Azzizzo, has welcomed my child with open arms and constantly shows that she is involved in everything her students do, both in school and at home. I cannot wait to learn more about this school that carries itself professionally and demonstrates care for the children and parents.
