EBENEZER PREPARATORY SCHOOL

My 3 children attended this school from Nursery-Grade 8. My family and I have nothing but praise, respect and love for this fine institution. My children were prepared academically, spiritually and creatively; they have continued to do well in high school, college and in their careers. Their high school teachers have been so impressed with my children's advanced academic preparation, outstanding character and exemplary behavior. This speaks to the importance of including Jesus Christ in the classroom and in the home. The school's motto is "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6 The staff is dedicated to bringing out the best in their students; my children still return to visit the staff. There have been several cosmetic improvements made to the building throughout the years, and renovations are ongoing. We are proud to be a part of Ebenezer's 31 year history. Thanks for a wonderful foundation; Pastor Marshall would be proud. An education at Ebenezer Prep doesn't just cost...it pays!!

I was apart of the first graduating class of HSPS, and my four years attending this school was one of the best I have experienced. Mr. Ben Shuldiner came to my house to tell me about the school. He always cared about our safety sometimes escorting us to the bus stop and the whole staff there was very caring. The curriclum is wonderful and the teachers make sure they challenge the students.

My daughter attended Parkway from Pre-K. She is now in the 2nd grade and performing well beyond that of an above average 2nd grader. Parkway definitely has the staff and resources to produce brilliant children. The staff stay on top of the students, though there is no overwhelming pressure. There is a sincere concern that can be seen from teacher to student. I have always been happy with my daughter's academic achievements, she, as well as her classmates can challenge other students and beat them out by far. Last year Parkway began a toddler class (2 yr). This program, as well as the 3 and 4 year old program need a lot of work. The school should never have tried this. These are specialized ages and require much more attention than staff has to give, grades K-8, are definitely strong. |

My son started attending this past September. In his previous private school I thought he was doing great but when he got to BCA we realized he was actually behind. The teachers have poured everything they have into getting him up to grade level and he is doing well. He even likes reading. BCA was the best choice for my son and I am greatful for their patience and dedication to the students. In response to the person who feels the children don't go on enough trips, I say volunteer your time to assist in event/trip planning. The teachers at BCA have an open door policy and welcome any and all suggestions. We are a community working together to build strong and well rounded individuals.

Nazareth is an excellent school with so many programs. You should go into their Microsoft academy which placed first in the USA. The new principal has put in program in law and medicine and nursing too. The school is safe with lots of activities. My daughter won a full scholarship to college due to Naz's programs.

My son attended this school and i currently have nephews at PS 181. The teachers are great and are gems at this school. The only problem I have is the lack of parent involvement and this isn't all due to a lack of parent involvement but is more because the people who have been long involved in the PTA, para programs, committees and other family related have put up a 'iron wall'. They are not welcoming and do everything possible to make you say 'to hell with this, I'll just work with my child at home'. This is from experience. I once typed up a letter to notify parent of an upcoming election... (6 weeks in advance) the letter was not sent out until the 5 b4 the election. Time for new faces! Other than that, the school is great

My son who is now 20 graduated from PS 208 many years ago and they did an excellent job with him. My daughter who is 7 is now a student at PS 208. Her Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Pointdujour was absolutely fabulous. She provided numerous opportunities for every child to succeed and shine. Good job Ms. P. Love you!..Mr. Perriera was her first grade teacher and he did not disappoint. In fact, I was nervous about the level of nurturing a male teacher will be able to provide to such a young girl, but that nervousness went out the window immediately. Mr. P is warm and friendly. He also provided each child with opportunities to be his or her best. Mr. P challenged the students in every way. He believes in academic rigor. My daughter excelled under his guidance and care. I cannot say enough about him. Love you to pieces!

As a parent of Great Oaks Elementary School I want to say a special thankyou to the Principal and staff for the help they have given to my child. My son has improved in his academics and in his behavior. The Principal believes that each day should begin with worship. She also believes that her school must be extremely clean and organized. The Principal is involved with the menu planning so my son receives a catered meal each day at no extra charge. The teachers at Great Oaks Elementary in Brooklyn, New York are loving, patient, kind, giving and caring. My son was not reading at grade level and his teacher took the time tohelp him with his reading. Some of them have attended the best colleges in New York and are enrolled in leadership programs and rSpecialist

League School offers a strict behavioral approach to kids with emotional problems. The academics are not it's strong point, however if pushed by the parents the school will attend to a child's special academic needs The students are allowed to join clubs in school but there is no afterschool activities other than a basketball team. Parent involvement is not encouraged unless the student is having behavioral problems at school. |

They have a great honors program that does work a year ahead and the teachers in that program are great. Unfortunately, my child has a lot of problems with bullies and I don't feel there is enough done about that. My child has been assaulted on several occasions even in front of school officials and they don't suspend the culprit. They just separate them which is ridiculous. I feel if you can go up to someone and kick them in the gut, then you should be suspended without question. If a child is that violent they need a reality check. I have been teaching my child not to hit back and let the school officials handle it, but it is getting out of hand, they always say they will look into it and never get back to me. I am going to transfer my child to a new school next year.

This school doesn't know how to deal with the students. The dean Ms. Ledgister is very rude towards students and parents. The lack of respect shown from her turns away good students that could help bring up the school's bad reputation. In my opinion only a few of the teachers want to teach. Take it from me a student, the faculty likes to bring down the students, make them feel below standard and they don't try to help. They like to label the students as well, they label them as all bad children. If they keep on treating the students as such they will become badly behaved. The school disgusts me and I personally can't get a well deserved education. |
