They can't be doing that bad a job- students have gotten academic scholarships to Yale, Columbia and New York University the past couple of years. They are not second rate colleges.

first, my 3 children are in olh and i am extremely happy with all the teachers. (it is worth every penny -to have my kids here). my oldest is in the 5th grade. the high percentage as one person wrote is of highly irish decent..not true. it is 95% italian/americans (just a correction as it has no bearing on anything). big on fundraising, close knit community, town hall meetings, etc. as for disciplining boys over girls, nonsense. safety here. drive up to the school in winters, the older kids will walk in your little ones when it snows. there is no 'perfect' school, as of course olh has it's share of problems, as every school does, but i am pleased and very happy with my childrens' progress.

St. Margaret's gives a faith based well rounded education. The principal is strict yet fair. The parents are very involved and care about the school. There are various cyo sports programs available. The curriculum is challenging and rewarding. My daughter has been there for 9 years now and loves it. I feel she is getting a great base for entering Catholic High School, and will have a good choice of schools when the time comes.

Love this school - everyone - from the principal on down - is so friendly & helpful and I love my son's teacher, she really does a great job and is very approachable. My only problem is the overcrowding already happening in the brand new building, and the kids that are in PS 128 that are not zoned for the school. I think the faculty needs to be more stringent in terms of 'checking up' on where the kids actually live. If the parents are giving the kid's grandparents' address, etc., because that's in the 'zone', that's not fair to the rest of us who really live within the zone of the school. And I believe that's a BIG reason for the overcrowding. Other than that, the new school is beautiful, and my son is doing great in it.

My daughter has been in the school now for 2 years. At first, she struggled to stay on top because the school has very high expectations and unfortunately she did not get a good foundation from the private school she came from (OLH). With the dedication and support of her teacher (Mrs Mollin) and us she survived her first year and loves the school! She worked very hard and saw the rewards!!! Mr Lombardi is a great principal and all of his staff is outstanding! This year, my daughter, has Mr Schumaker and she loves him as well. She wakes up happy every morning to go to school and returns home just as happy. I'm so glad the school goes to 8th grade now. What a dumb mistake I made to not put her here from Kindergarden. This is an outstanding school!!!! Thank you.

Today, my horrible experienced at another school, turned to joy after meeting the kindest, most compassion secretary Maria to the Principal, Ms. Machaeli, who then sat me down with the assistant principals, and some teachers, during their lunc ... to make sure the one thing i took with me is that "They all truly care about their families!" My son who is on the autism spectrum was at home instantly being greeted by a wonderful male safety agent! I am still smiling with relief of finding an entire school that cares!
