My son is in the third grade, this is his second year in this school. Academically he is doing very well, but this is because of how important I feel education is.(education always starts at home) The school teachers are average aside from maybe one or two teachers I feel are not teaching up to par. The principle is a very nice man and always present when needed. There is a lively atmosphere in the school, mainly because most of the children get to know each other very well due to the fact that it's a K-8th grade school and only one or two classes per grade, so it does feel very familial. All in all my son is happy there so I'm happy too.

I loved this school, I am a past 8th grader and I am now going to high school. Most of the teachers except like two, are funny, and teach in a fun way. The principal is really nice and understanding. Students dont do that many bad things anymore because they dont want to see her upset or dissapointed. The vice principal is strict but can also be funny when not angry. I miss this school and I had the best memories.

I've had 4 children attend the school. I also attended 143 and so did my youngest sister. Every school has it's problems but to say that it is the worst school in america is going too far. The staff are always trying to improve and are always working together with parents to make it a safe and pleasant environment for our kids. I have seen school that are gated like prisons because of the violence. 143 Is one of the safest schools in nyc. Academically they push the kids to do there best they know them by name, how many schools know all of their students by name. It is a very safe and overall good school.

PS.173 I would say has a wide selection of academic programs & activities available for all children. They especially accommodate the spanish speaking children. I believe that they have good, caring, enthusiastic teachers. Some are new and most are veterans. The music programs are great. My son learned how to play the recorder in no time. He turns to his recorder when he feels sad or happy. In ways it's become a therapeutic tool to alleviate some of his everyday challenges. They also offer violin lessons, dance and even have a soccer team. Because of my 150 word limit I'm not able to mention the many more activities..etc at P.S. 173. I'll conclude my note by saying that it's a great school and they have a great staff & teachers!

EXTRAODINARY! SUPERB! MAGNIFICENT! My two boys attend Pre-K 3 & 4. My 3 and 1/2 year old is bright but had poor concentration. His teachers are out of this world, he is so advanced and is well behaved as well as spoken. This school really produces young academic over achievers.

I am an alumni of this school. Class of '70. The best years of my life were spent at Incarnation. The late Monsignor Waterson, the Priests, the nuns and the lay teachers were all wonderful. Not to mention my classmates and friends. I even found the love of my life there (we were 8 years old and in 2nd grade) and we are together today (after 48 years). My experience at Incarnation and the memories I hold will forever be treasured.
