GREATER NEW YORK ACADEMY

I spent all 4 of my high school years at Greater New York Academy and a better education could not be found. While some may consider the lack of extra curricular activities a focal point, lets face it, most universities are interested in how you academically. The school does have several programs in place for kids to do volunteering and there are intramurals. Have your child volunteer time at a shelter or hospital. If you put your child in this school then you already know that it is a Seventh-day Adventist institution and as such will teach according to the beliefs of the denomination. I highly recommend this school if you want your child to have a well rounded Christian education.

Please safe this school! This school helped my learning disabled kids get A & B grades. It also has a Speech program, and a SETTHS teacher set up that is provided by the board of ed. Less than 15 kids a class. Its fabulous here! Please the school needs a hand out. Please save my kids school. Please!

I am forever grateful to this school for my son recently got a full scholarship into one of the prestigious private high school and my daughter is also on top of her class. I highly recognized teachers involvement in the individual capabilities of the students and their dedication to uphold the excellence in learning. I am so happy with how teachers treat students and and the way they teach students....teachers know each students capabilities and tell parents in every conference where you're child excels or what needs to focus on. When it comes to discipline, teachers work hand in hand with parents to be at the same paced. I highly recommend this school. It's better to invests in education wherein you could get it back in return by having EXCELLENT kids.

Our daughter is in her second year at 151's French-dual language program. She began with no French experience at all (English and Spanish fluency). So far she's doing excellent and loves the school. I look forward to how she'll speak French at the end of the program. The school itself used to have a low rating but has made great strides since Mr. Goldner took over as principal. I think he's doing a wonderful job.

Great teachers, that's the most important aspect for me. I wish the office staff was more friendly and competent. Every time I'm at the school, it is calm and welcoming.

Very strong in math and sciences. There is a weak principle and the office administration is essentially not professional.

This school was awesome. I was there from 6-8 grade and all the teachers were helpful, nice and fun. The staff at this school really knows what they are doing and when it comes to preparing for statewide exams and Regents Examinations, they do everything they can to help out. The only downside to this school is that its a little overcrowded but the level of education tops it and most of the students are very nice and friendly.
